Nick Dimmock, Managing Director

Nick has a BA Honors Degree in Business Science from The University of West Of England. Having worked for a Mobile Telephone Operator (Austin City Ltd) during his University work placement year, he set up his own airtime consultancy, 21st Cellular Ltd, in his final year at University and eventually sold this business to Martin Dawes Ltd in 1996. From 1996-2001, Nick worked as a Foreign Exchange Broker and subsequently as a stockbroker, finishing his stock broking career as an Institutional Equity Salesperson at Raymond James in 2002. In 2003, Nick co-founded Azure Films Plc which Executive Produced “Ae Fond Kiss” (Best Film-Berlin Film Festival), Keeping Mum (Rowan Atkinson, Kristen Scott Thomas, Patrick Swayze & Maggie Smith – Best Comedy Screenplay-Aspen), Tales of the Riverbank (Stephen Fry, Ardol O’Hanlon, Steve Coogan, Jim Broadbent) and Sharpe’s Challenge (Sean Bean). He completed his Executive MBA at Cass Business School London in 2007 and sold out of the film business in 2008. Post MBA, Nick joined Tullet Prebon’s Emissions Trading Desk and founded Carbon 350 Ltd in November 2008.

Bill Goldie, Commercial Director

In 1994 Bill became the General Manager of Ingram Electronics (part of Beales Hunter Plc.) and was responsible for setting up ‘mirror’ manufacturing partners in China. In 1996 he was promoted to Managing Director and in 1998 the company was bought by Stadium Plc. In 1999 he was promoted to divisional MD running the Power and automotive facilities in the South of England and managing the Asia based supply chain and manufacturing partnerships.  In 2002 he completed his MBA at Canterbury University and left Stadium to set up a company with his previous group Managing Director called Anglo China Strategies Ltd. From 2003 to 2010 his major focus was assisting a UK company called Retronix set up a China facility in Tianjin setting up further facilities in Zhuhai and Shenzhen. Bill joined Carbon 350 in January 2010, and brought with him his team from China.

 

CHAIRMAN AND NON EXECUTIVES

John Nicol, Chairman

John began his working life as an Electronics Design Engineer. In 1972 he founded Norbain Electronics Ltd. The company was taken public via the USM in 1984 and over the next decade became the largest distributor of CCTV in Europe and one of the largest manufacturers in the UK. When Nicol sold his interests in 2006 the company was capitalised at £60m, was fully listed, employed some 600 people and he was the Chairman with circa 30% shareholding. Since then he has been involved in several start up SME’s in various fields including mining in Zambia.

Jon Marriott, Non Executive Director

Jon holds a degree in economics from Loughborough University after which he successfully completed his graduate trainee programme at Barclays. After 3 years training he moved into the foreign exchange industry straight after this starting as an FX dealer, then moving on to senior FX dealer and then dealer manager at the FX broker TTT Moneycorp. In the last 4 years he has been the dealing director and partner at Global Reach Partners.

Mark Thompson, Non Executive Director

Mark is a qualified technical analyst and approved person under the FSA. He began his career at Price Waterhouse in their Value based management consultancy team before moving into the financial markets as a broker and trader where he has since gained over 14 years experience. He has been a regular spokesman on economic issues in the wider media over the last few years and has appeared on BBC News, the Today program, Sky, Bloomberg and CNBC.

 

Tessa Laws, Non Executive Director

Tessa is a fully qualified lawyer. After a distinguished career at Rosenblatts, Tessa set up New Laws Legal in 2010. New Laws Legal is a full service law firm authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. The practice is run by Tessa Laws as a sole practitioner and gives corporate and commercial legal advice to individuals and businesses. Tessa have been active in the Renewables field since 2008 and organises the New Energy Awards at the Natural History Museum every year.

 

Tony Creed, Company Secretary

Tony is an Associate of The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators. After a distinguished banking career with Midland, Brown Brothers Harriman and Atlantic International Bank and subsequently at the Inland Revenue, Tony founded Pomfrey Accounts in 1989. Today, Pomfrey is a thriving accountancy practice catering to small and medium high growth companies. Pomfrey has three offices and seventeen staff.
